"Expect more . . . think about the value of your time." Touche! Well said. And of course your advice transcends human interactions via social media. People should jettison the crud in all aspects of their lives. We only have a brief moment. Or two. Life is short. A cliche, but so true.

Steph,

Love your thoughtful Twillumination. Web 2.0 has made me wonderfully more efficient, but not necessarily more satisfied. It's quick, concise, relevant. But when's the last time you read the paper cover to cover including all the non-relevant stuff? I find more things but fewer things find me. I know there's a solution out there and I'm sure I'll bump into it eventually, but not there yet.

FYI, I met Brian Kenny at HBS last time I was there. And saw Paige Arnoff. And saw Angela Crispi. And Ben Esty (did you know him?) Great fun. Nice people. I miss the place.

Hope all is well.

Thanks for the mention.

So how do you categorize the people who follow thousands of people?

I routinely deny follow requests if I see that the person already follows more than 500 people. I figure if you follow that many people you can't possibly care what I have to say or intend to engage in any meaningful conversation.
