I’m Stephanie Fierman, a marketing executive with nearly 20 years of multi-channel experience building successful brands and consumer-directed businesses in industries including financial services, media/entertainment and publishing.

After Harvard Business School and several years with JPMorgan Chase’s retail bank, I entered the Web 1.0 world via a publishing startup and then went on to help great brands such as Variety and Zagat launch themselves into the digital space(s) and reposition themselves globally as the CMO of Reed Business Information and Zagat Survey, respectively.  As the head of sales and marketing for Time Warner’s DC Comics, I’ve had the pleasure of standing firmly in the Web 2.0 universe among the MMOGs, direct-to-DVD, online and viral video, mobile, wireless, social networking and all the other  tools of this time that help us establish and grow solid, meaningful, profitable customer relationships around the world.

I speak at conferences, have been profiled in the press now and again and love what I do.

I decided to start a blog because, well, the evil-twin-Skippy side of all this swellness is that I look at nearly everything, at least for a minute, as a marketer and think:  “Thank goodness we didn’t do that.”  “I wish I had done that!”  “What were they thinking when…?”  You get the idea.  And some of these happenings are interesting, thought-provoking or just plain entertaining enough to share and to talk about.

Let me know how I do.
