I’m Stephanie Fierman, a marketing executive with nearly 20 years of multi-channel experience building successful brands and consumer-directed businesses in industries including financial services, media/entertainment and publishing.

After Harvard Business School and several years with Citicorp and JPMorgan Chase, I entered the media world via a publishing start-up and went on to help great brands such as Zagat Survey and DC Comics propel their branding, communications, direct marketing and customer relationship development into what has certainly become a more transparent, more demanding, ruthlessly fast-moving world.  Whether it’s direct mail and customer service call centers or superhero MMOGs, online and viral video (or mobile 0r Twitter 0r social networking or any of the *other* tools of our time…) I use it all to try to accomplish a single objective:  creating loyal, profitable and sustainable customer relationships around the world.

I am the Founding Principal and CMO of my own firm, Marketing Mojo Inc., which helps companies do exactly that.  I speak at conferences, have been profiled in the press now and again and love what I do. I decided to start this first blog as a way to let my brain run free on what I perceived to be meaningful and interesting business issues.  My sentences can also tend to run free, but no one’s perfect.  A second blog, www.stephaniefiermanmarketingdaily.com, is a somewhat lighter and shorter take on an issue every day from Monday to Friday.  Both have been great fun and – like anything else – what it means to truly manage a message online can only be fully felt when you do it yourself.    Not your staff, or your agency or the other guy:  you.
